Issey Miyake – Japanese textile innovation at the service of movement and design


Issey Miyake (1938–2022) remains one of the most visionary Japanese designers of contemporary fashion. Having founded his house in Tokyo in 1970, he established himself in Paris as a pioneer of the Japanese avant-garde thanks to his unique approach: combining Made in Japan textile research with freedom of movement.
