Zucca – Functional Minimalism
Founded in 1988 by Akira Onozuka, a former Issey Miyake collaborator, Zucca develops a casual and functional wardrobe, faithful to Japanese design. Its collections are characterized by loose cuts, comfortable materials, and sophisticated minimalism, designed for everyday wear.
Zucca has won over audiences with his ability to reinvent Japanese casual chic, combining simplicity and textile refinement. His garments embody a practical yet refined aesthetic, very much in tune with contemporary lifestyles.
In the Japanese secondhand market, Zucca's archive from the 1990s–2000s is prized for its timeless comfort and Made in Japan manufacturing. Less radical than the avant-garde, Zucca illustrates another facet of contemporary Japanese fashion, focused on sustainability and understatement.
